REAR ADMIRAL HARRY ONYELUKACHUKWU NGONADI
Is a brilliant strategist; he commanded land and sea forces in the Nigerian Navy. He was born in Ekpoma Edo state, Nigeria on 20th of January, 1959. The distinguished officer began his Military career at the Nigeria Defense Academy Kaduna.
He attended the Officer Sub- Technical course and Officers long course in NNS QUORRA and Principal warfare officer's course at the Naval College, Onne, Port Harcourt, Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji - Nigeria, National Defense College Mirpu Bangladesh.
He is an Above Water Warfare (AWW) Specialist, a Specialist Warfare Officer and holds a Master's degree in Security Studies from the Bangladesh University of Professionals, Dhaka (BUP). The Admiral has held several Command appointments in the Nigerian Navy which include; Commanding Officer, NNS OFIOM (LST).
Rear Admiral HO NGONADI also held several Training and Administrative appointments. Some of these include; The Training Officer Cadet Training Ship RUWAN YARO, Chief Instructor (CI) Naval Wing Nigerian Defense Academy, Commander Naval Unit Abuja.
In recognition of his intellectual capacity and operational competence, he was appointed Navy Secretary, Naval HQ. thereafter he became Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval command, the Nigeria Navy Foremost Command with vital national strategic and economic assets and subsequently Director Development. Defense HQ Abuja.
After his voluntary retirement from active military service, Rear Admiral Harry Ngonadi was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2018 as a Member, Defense and Security Think-Tank Team of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The Think-Tank Team was established in 2018 to proactively and continuously examine the security situations in Nigeria and offer advices as necessary. In addition to this task, the Admiral is actively engaged in private business, deploying his multi-faced skills to great use.
